Viva Espana!!!!
I do not watch sport very much, but last night that was something different. It was my last night here in Lanzarote and after Spain won the World Cup, I thought that the volcano erupted again...
I saw good bit in my life, but what I experienced last night was justsooo unique. The whole island was on the street – people were blowing horns, dancing, laughing, children in their Spanish costumes, all nationalities were “Ola, olaaaa” to one another, everybody was going around with Spanish flags and smiling – celebrating...everybody was just in that moment, magic moment, present moment and it was just wonderful
And I am in still in that moment, because I feel so happy that I have somebody to share this on Iceberg...
Many regards

Viva Espana,Viva recovery , Viva life
Whilst I was neither a follower of the world cup nor in a spanish island on Sunday night , I had a fantastic experience of life on Sunday night. I was in the Temple bar area at a downstairs restaurant and when I emerged after the end of the match, the area was transformed into a street carnival - basically the place went nuts . As someone who does'nt understand the hoopla of the world cup, I put my own interpretation on it.To me what I experienced in Temple Bar was a metaphor for actually celebrating life and freedom. I drank in the atmosphere of seeing so many happy and gigarious people, the gestures, the sounds, their joy and energy, the friendhip and positivity for life and towards others and all the colours of flags/ clothing and face paint. I understand that viva means' long live' and the associated spanish word 'vivo' means 'alive;I live'.
When I was in the basement of the restaurant (which was dark and had no windows and was sound proof), I was isolated from this joy and celebration and did'nt know it existed just a few yards away on the street above - my only point of focus was the food. It seems to me that the condition keeps people in the basement of life and sadly prevents the experience of joy and fun that is seperated by the stairs to freedom. That might sound simplistic as I know first hand how much personal courage and persistence is needed on the journey to recovery , however from personally seeing people I know transformed from 'basement living' to 'freedom living' convinces me that the rewards are worth it.
Viva recovery and viva life!
I know, I kept thinking "how
I know, I kept thinking "how lucky am I to be here, when would this ever happen - to be in Spain when Spain win the world cup"
The atmosphere was unbelievable and so energising
