Recovery in like golf
Yesterday afternoon I decided I go to play golf. The first time I played was about twenty years ago, It was a first time I played something and it did not bothered me that I was not good at it, I really enjoyed it. But couple years ago when I just enjoyed my game, the players behind me started to shout at me:
“Get off the course, go back to driving range, get out...”
Thanks God I was recovered and did not take it very personally and gave them cheeky answer back (not suitable for Iceberg), I called my husband who was a professional golf teacher and played behind them – when they saw his shots they fried with jealousy...
It did not affect me at that moment, but I did not played again until yesterday. And – jenny mack – It was nice to be back on the golf course!!!
Such a lovely golf course here in Lanzarote, you can see the sea, the mountains, flowers, palm trees, and even little Hoopoe bird was trying to keep me company – my new caddy.
My husband was very patient with me and so were the people behind me – actually they played about my level as well.
When I was playing I was often thinking about you, Icebergers, (every time little hoopoe bird arrived, thanks to you, now I know the name)
Golf is like Recovery – to hit the best shots, you cannot think about anything else then the ball in the front of you, you need to relax, you need to concentrate, and cannot analyse...
You cannot look back, if you want to play good game – you need to just focus on the next shot and not the last one...
So, I learn a lot yesterday – not to give power to some frustrated men behind me and start to enjoy golf again – I still probably only win the one competition and that is – the worst golfer of the year, but I will enjoy it and that is the most important...
So, for today give your best shot to you recovery and just focus on the next shot – doesn’t matter the score – just enjoy it!!!!
Marie
