    War with our bodies....

For most of my life I was at war with my body and I did not even realise it. I think there are many people in this situation today. I think many people in the western world have lost their body - mind connection.
I came cross a study that showed that the diet industry is making up to $77 billion profit a year. We worry so much about weight gain, but I think it is time to worry about these profit numbers.

    Happy New Year to everyone:)

When I was a little girl, I used to spend the New Year’s Eve with my grandparents. I was always wondering how the years changed. My grandfather used to tell me story, about a fight, which took place that last night of the year. He always said that this is a very special night, were the New Year is going to fight with the Old Year and the better one would win. I always wanted to wait to see the fight, but than I did fall asleep. First thing in the morning I run to my grand father and asked him: Which year did win?

He said: the better one – the New Year…. I was trilled.

    Christmas Food Fears

For many people this season is all about fun, giving receiving and many other enjoyable things, but when you suffer from ED, it can be a time of fears. Fears about nourishment can be stronger than any other time of the year. We often hear that Recovery is not about the food, that is true, but we as well know that the brain needs a lot of energy, if it not there, a lot of irrational thoughts are taking over, that is not you deserve this Christmas.

    Gender Free Matter

Eventually we have started to talk more about men and Eating Distress. I use the expression ‘Eating Distress’, because really the distress that is eating the person is the underlying issue of all eating disorders.

We are now seeing headlines informing us of the growing numbers of ED sufferers in male population. My question is – is the number growing or maybe we were just not aware enough?
1694 London physician Richard Morton made the first recorded entry of a person suffering with Anorexia Nervosa, guess what? – It was a 16-year-old male.

    Happiness and ED Recovery

When I ask people: ‘What is Recovery from Eating Distress? ‘ The answer I get very often is: ‘I want to be happy’
    What is happiness?

Festive times are starting and soon we will be surrounded by all these smiling faces in advertisements reminding us what we do not have and telling us that we are not good enough and we can’t be happy until we have this or that product.
Where is the connection between Happiness and Recovery?

    Loretta LaRoche

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a very nice day. Some of you were mentioning to me how Tips from Loretta LaRoche were great help in your Recovery. I love her style very much, her courageous and funny way of expressing and common sense is uplifting and inspiring. She point to us a lot of matters we could be thinking differently about, Loretta often express things we would like to say and are afraid.
Loretta said one day: “You can’t laugh and be stress at the same time. It’s is like trying to lift a piece of heavy furniture while you are laughing – you will drop it…”

Is your Recovery on the back burner?

How often do we procrastinate in our Recovery?
How often do we repeat ourselves: ‘This is too hard’ instead of ‘I can do this’?

I do not even know why I am writing this blog, but something that makes me very sad lately is seeing people focusing so much on their fears and using them to justify not recovering. I can’t judge any one, my recovery did take a very long time, but thank God I did it and now I have to live with the consequences of the length of the ED. My hopes always were that somebody could learn on my mistakes, maybe I was naïve.

    New beginnings

You do not have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. (Joe Sabah)

Every day we have a different date, every day brings something new.
    Welcoming new beginnings is recovery.
It is not important how many times we start our recovery, it is important that we do not stop.

Recovery is a long process and sometimes the key is just to start again and again and again…and never give up…
The more senses we use the faster our subconscious mind gets re-programmed. To make this process easier I made a little video with some recovery tips.
    Hope you enjoy
