plus je vois l'homme, plus j'aime mon chien!
Sitting here with my beautiful doggy at my feet and i think its safe to say, he really is my best friend. As i write this he has his head on my lap, staring up at me, his eyes full of admiration.
I went upstairs, and when i came back he jumped up tail wagging running around all excited, honestly i felt as if i had just come back from a 3 year trip to Australia. Then i realised, this is the response i always get when i see him. He has an unconditional love, he is loyal and no matter what he is always there.
He doesnt care what I look like, he doesnt judge what i eat, in fact hes happy as i long as i share with him ;)
now that i think of it, he is quite the inspiration, he never looks into his bowl and thinks ''oh god, i cant eat that? what wud happen if i did! and what if i eat it and aine doesnt have time for my walk??''
So im going to make myself some tea, and have a long chat with him, and the best part is he wont be able to disagree!!
sooo yeh I dont really know why im writing this post, suppose i just feel grateful for his friendship :)
..plus je vois l'homme, plus j'aime mon chien!

Great Post Aine :)
I find animals so helpful, great companions and great teachers for learning about unconditional love which we need to practice ourselves when in Recovery.

I like your post Aine -You are right Aine, we say that in French-I had completly forgotten this french saying until I read your post.Pets are amazing life companions, they love you whatever you do and say. They never care about what you look like , they just want your care and love. I find They are fantastic at expressing/showing their care and love in return of yours. They are fantastic assets in Recovery as Pets unconditionally love you.Can you say in English,Your dog behaves with you like you are the apple of his eyes ( " La prunelle de ses yeux" )From the content of your post I can tell your dog is very lucky to have you as an owner because you look after his needs and show care, love and patience. What is the name of your Dog ? I am sure if your dog could list all the things he is grateful for , your name would be at the top of his list. Without you , your dog is nothing: You take him for walks, talk to him, pet him, love him, give out to him when he needs to be taught to behave, feeds him, wash him.....................And in return he is grateful because he knows you mean well.Pet your dog for us, will you ? Take care, Patricia
Yes our little animal friends can certainly teach us so much - and bring so much comfort. Thanks for sharing Aine
love and blessings
