Hi Everyone, Happy New Year, 2012.

I havent posted in a while, suppose my hearts not been in it really.. I have been reading the posts and checking in but I decided this evening to post. Well, due to certain events, its been a rather challenging Christmas. There were good points, yes, and I will cherish those, but much, well, it wasnt so great. I suppose been really honest with myself, its been a really difficult year. Anyway, I am not here to post negativity, I have enough of that.. I decided for 2012 to make some promises to myself, not tie you down ones, but hopes, goals I suppose and I wanted to share:

* I am going to start from today to be more positive, I have lapsed big time in this, not a false positive, but a realistic, optimisitc positivity.
* I am going to start looking after my health more
* I am not going to look back, but look forward.
* I am going to pick up on some affirmations I need to say to myself to build up my self belief again.
* I am going to be kinder to myself and to those around me and include people in my life more rather than push them away.
* I am going to be happy with who I am and what I have.
* I am going to find a job, and work in something I love with people I like.
* I am going to study something I have always wanted to do and not let money or worries get in my way.

There is alot I feel I want to say, but I dont think this is the place to say it. But it felt good just to touch in.

Thank you for reading

Hi Rosebud, These are

Hi Rosebud,

These are excellent promises to live by. Sometimes it's hard to remember that we CHOOSE how we see things. Your optimism does not have to be in any way false. This will indeed be a brilliant for you and every other iceberger :) I also made the decision yesterday that I need to go back to college this year, and I am going to do whatever it takes to make it happen. At the end of the day, money can be repaid. It's just money. But your happiness ? Contentedness ? Drive ? Ambition ? They are not worth sacrificing. Things will work out. They always do xx

Love always,
Fio

Hopes and goals

I like that you've pointed out the these are hopes and goals, Rosebud, and not 'tie you down' promises.
I like to have a 'could do', rather than a 'to do' list.
It sounds like you're very focussed, and that's inspirational to read, so thank you for sharing this. I wish you the very best in keeping these great promises to yourself.
Happy New Year, Rosebud,
Michelle xx

Moving on...

Happy New Year to you, Rosebud,

The last year was a challenge for you, but in the end of the day, you will see how you still have grown, despite being challenged. Just imagine now how you will shoot up when you nourish yourself with your healthy optimism... you won't know yourself ;-)
One of the most important things I have learnt with recovery was your third point:
not walking around with your head turned back-to-front, but facing towards NOW and Future. When you keep looking back and reminisce in nostalgia and regrets you end up in some sort of mud that really makes it very difficult to move forward and grow. It takes up all your energy to even just do one step, because pulling out your foot is so hard that you barely have the energy to set it down much further along. You end up treading on one spot and only sink in deeper.
Remember: What you focus on increases... So choose wisely what you keep your focus on....

Wishing you a wonderful healthy and happy New Year,
xxx Robin xxx
