The King's speech
I went to see "The king's speech" with Colin Firth yesterday and would highly recommend it. Prince Albert (Bertie), second son of George V, suffered from a horrendous stammer. The story is about how an unconventional Australian speech therapist (he didn't have that title, or training or any credentials whatsoever) helped him to work through this difficulty. I don't want to say any more - but would love if you go to see it and write about it. There are parallels to be drawn.

Thank you MR, for this recommendation . I went to see King's Speech in the morning , absolutely wonderful true story about determination, and the power of the mind. So much learning for recovery in this film, I left the cinema very motivated and feeling that everything is possible, I would highly recommended to everyone

I saw this film tonight and I thought it was one of the best films I have seen in a while. It was so moving, me and my friend left the cinema with a light feeling in our hearts. We both cried and laughed through it. Very moving.. I loved it. Colin Firth is a wonderful actor.
I also saw The Way Back and The Last 3 Days which were both very powerful films. Quite intense each in there own right.
Last night we went to see "the king's speech". After all the good critique and recommendation how could we resist?
And we were not disappointed! What a powerful message:
"...I HAVE A VOICE!!!"
I think this was one of key messages I took with me from this film.
What I loved about it as well is that it is based on a true story, and in fact a story that happened so recent in our history that at least one of the characters appearing in the film is actually still alive: Queen Elizabeth.
I really love to learn about history in this way.
And then I had watched the tv drama "Upstairs-Downstairs" recently, which plays around the same time and thus has some historical parallels, I thought that was interesting.
I join the others and highly recommend the film.
Love,
