I feel here.

I watched "Precious" at the weekend. It's a tough film to watch - extremely well-directed, -scripted and -acted, but not exactly light-hearted.
In it, the leading lady answers a teacher's question about how speaking in class for the first time has made her fell. She says she feels 'here'. It made me realise - I feel here in a way I never have before. My life is really my own. I really have a choice at all times - even if all around me seems out of my control I can still decide how i react. I feel i actually am a competent person. And i am no longer looking at myself struggling and weak. I am inhabiting my body, mind, life, and loving every minute. I possess strength and am gaining more. I AM SO LUCKY.
I invite you all to give yourselves a pat on the back for any progress - however small -you have made. I had not realised i felt so differently from how i did. It is wonderful to see the improvement in my mentality. This is good news, not because i am the centre of the universe (!) but because we are all progressing daily, whether we realise it or not. So there is always a wee bit of praise to be given and received.
