So at group last night I was, as usual, reminded of why I should go more often. Last night we discussed taking responsibility as opposed to taking blame. There was a lot of wisdom shared and I left pumped up and ready for more recovery.

Both C and M made a very incisive point, about compromising with the condition. M spoke of how she would give the recovery one thing (for example, by drinking a high energy nutrition drink) and then would take one thing back for the condition (for example, by skipping a meal).

C elaborated on this mentality of compromise.

And I realised that I too, play this game of compromise with the condition. I give something to my recovery, like saying my affirmations all morning, and then I give something to the condition, like a food behaviour.

Thank you to C and M for pointing this out to me (I hope you know who you are). You have given me an awareness of a behaviour that I didn't know was there. Now, instead of blaming myself, I choose to take responsibility for this game of compromise and start challenging it.

I learn so much from all of you - thank you for your sharing. You're helping me towards recovery.
