Hi there
Taking credit for small achievements is an area I have difficulty with. I have always thought it a bit big headed or smug in a way and condition would slam any such thoughts. "aren't I great for taking nutrition hmmph etc!!" Or condition would have me believe that, if I get excited about a small conquest , that it will whip it away the next time and that I'll go back to "failure". Condition would also tend to minimise the significance of recovery choices, so just say I had chosen chicken soup over vegetable soup, condition would say, whats the big deal, no great difference, but if it breaks a condition rule , then for me it is huge, a triumph and worth celebrating.
Taking credit , I also tended to underestimate its importance for recovery. Alright for others to do, or in theory it sounds good, but to actually practise it was a whole other ballgame. Only when reminded would I take credit and even then reluctantly and with some significant unease.
But today I see it differently. By not taking credit, I'm leaving room for condtition red thoughts to sneak in the back door. Taking credit, is like watering the green thought, keeping them alive and active in my inner world. And no one need see what I'm thinking. It can be very private, or just expressed here on Iceberg or in journalling.
So just a few thought, anyone else who has difficulties in this area and underestimates its value in recovery.

Great post Kiz! And a really

Great post Kiz!

And a really powerful realisation, every single little thing we do to undermine the condition and focus on our triumphs are vital in the journey of recovery. Delighted to read this from you.
