Detachment is something which has been cropping up more and more this past year. Detachment is when we let go of any attachment to the outcome. I recently had to broach my manager about something at work, where a work colleague did something which was inappropriate, and even though he did apologise I felt I needed, upon reflection, go to my manager, more so to ensure that my name was in the clear due to something which he did. I really did not care about whether it was broached with him or not, as in this situation it was about me - the result went far better than I could have hoped, but I have found when we let go of any attachment to the outcome that is when miracles can occur.

When I come from a place of detachment, that is when miracles can occur. I am still human, and complete detachment is not always easy - eg with my mum's illness and knowing that she is dying little by little day by day is hard to see, as even though I hope she doesn't suffer too much, another part of me does not want to let her go - hey, she is my mum and our parents are supposed to be invincible, right ;).

When we have an attachment to the outcome that is when we very often can feel hurt, angry, rejected etc, however through detachment we can really come to a better understanding of what the lesson or message in a particular situation may be.

Dearest Mystique.. Thank you

Dearest Mystique..

Thank you for sharing your experiences and learnings with us all.

I am so sorry, from my heart of hearts, to hear that your Mum is so unwell. I'm sure she's beyond delighted and proud of you with how strong and full of freedom you are!!!

It's so interesting what you're saying about detachment. I could feel the sense of liberation from you around this from simply reading your post. You took action and put in everything you needed to put in to the situation and then you let it be. God I want to be able to do that too. Thanks for showing me the way!!

I pray that you Mum is not in any pain and please know I will keep her and you in my prayers!!

Love Lam
