A cheer-up film!
Hello everyone!
I was feeling down a few weeks ago and I came across this film which cheered me up enormously! It's 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' with Marilyn Monroe in the lead role. You can watch the whole film on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCg9JrHafMM
I just found Marilyn's character fantastic! She comes across very naive, but at the same time she has all the men sized up and knows how to get exactly what she wants from them! And also her beautiful curvy figure is a testament to female beauty!
I find sometimes even a few minutes of a funny film can shift your energy, so that afterwards your thoughts have changed, and new, fresh ones replace the negative ones.

I am dying to see the new Marylin Monroe film thats just out now.. I saw pictures of her in the exhibition in Newbridge Gallery last year, she looked beautiful. There was on in particular that stood out. She was very natural, kneeling in the sand on the beach, she looked radiant, who knows what was going on beneath, but I thought she looked radiant. I also watched part one of the above film that you posted girasole, I love all the old movies, thanks it perked me up..
Ohh Girasole,
That is one of my favourite films as well. There is something magic in these old films, something so simple, nostalgic and relaxing. I just watched another one this afternoon ‘For one Night Only’, really funny.
Have a nice full if fun evening everyone

I watched THE KING AND I this morning, its one of my old favourites, really good film...
Ohh I loved that one - usually we watch it during Christmass, I heard that that is a true story, Is it?
Love when you share movies you loved that took you away from all that other stuff. I went to see Midnight in Paris (latest Woody Allen) recently. Perhaps it is because I lived in Paris for a long time, perhaps it is because I LOVE the 1920's in Paris and what it must have been like to be living with all the writers and artists - meeting up in Gertrude Stein's "salon" -perhaps it is because I am a hopeless romantic at heart. I loved it!
Anyone needing a good cry at Christmas - It's a wonderful life is a must as is Miracle on 34th street (especially if they show the old version)!
love and blessings to you all
You CAN have the life you want - the recipe is tenacity and patience!

I love that film, I have both versions, I love the one with Maureen O Hara.. Also love the Quiet Man and Darby O Gill and the Little People. Great silly films if anyone wants to watch a few.. And majorly love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. But my all time favourite film still is Into the West... Ah love it!! I quite love old films and period dramas because of the clothes, like The Duchess, Atonement, Jane Eyre (but the really really old one with Elizabeth Taylor as a child). Anyone recommend a few more good ones??
Hello everyone, this morning I was deciding which film I go to see, Johnny Deb’s one or Marilyn’s one, John had to wait, I went to see ‘My week With Marilyn’, what a movie, if you need some cheering up – highly recommended.
It is a true story of young man spending week with Marilyn Monroe, played by Michelle Williams. From the point of recovery, it is wonderful to see a real woman called the most famous woman in the world, Michelle’s acting is inspiring. I think watching this film help us to see the beauty of woman’s body, which often our condition shadows. I hope you will enjoy….
Hi all,
I went to see 50 50 in the cinema a few days ago. All I can say is its a great movie to experience some many emotions while watching the same film!! I laughed, cried, but I have to say its such an inspiring movie.
Thanks Maire for posting the trailer for 'my week with marilyn' next on the list I think!

Ah that's great you liked it! And me too - I'm looking forward to seeing the new film that's out this week! x
