Bad day!!
Hey everyone, I havn't posted in a while but I could do with some advice!! I feel I have been doing really well and for the first time recovery seems like a possibility on the horizon :)!! However,I had to go to the doc today and I have a nasty chest infection,I am on antibiotics again (i suffer from recurring infections). That is not even the worst thing,i have suffered in condition for many years and it has taken on different shapes and forms in my life during that time,at the moment I am on they heavy side of ED and my doc commented on my weight and how much i should/need to lose. I am freaking out in my head after this and it is upsetting me as I have been so calm and grounded lately. I have been working so hard and now it freaked me so much that while i was waiting on my prescription in the chemist i started looking at stupid crappy products (you know the ones) on the shelves. Thought i was doing so well :(. Would love some advice from some of you great people out there...

Hey lovely,
I'm sorry to hear about your battle with infections, there is a lot going around these days though, so when your immunity system is weakened already, the bugs just love jumping at you.A
Do not feel disheartened by the one comment of this one doctor. and definitely do not let it move your focus from your wonderful work on recovery.
You are working hard and recovery is becoming achievable and a realistic goal for you, this is wonderful and I am so pleased to hear that!!!
Many GPs out there have still no adequate understanding of the condition and are stuck in their own game with numbers and figures. Do not let this take you off your course. see it like a freak gust of wind in your sail that shakes the boat, but keep your focus on the recovery horizon.
I am working with a lot of GPs and other health care professionals (like myself) and it is incredible how many of them still don't know enough and rather focus on weight, size, numbers... Yes, there are numbers that are important, your bloods for example, numbers that have impact on your health. Weight or size on its own is never enough.
I guess your GP does not know the bigger picture of who and what is mazlev, so his knowledge came from pure unawareness and ignorance of your whole situation.
Please do not take it to heart, and definitely don't allow the condition to take it. Sure, ED loves comments like this to pull you back.
You are worth much more than that, mazlev.
Hold your head high, be proud of the real work you are doing and keep your determination and persistence.
You too will get there, there is nothing wrong with you!!!
Love,
