Is your Recovery on the back burner?
How often do we procrastinate in our Recovery?
How often do we repeat ourselves: ‘This is too hard’ instead of ‘I can do this’?
I do not even know why I am writing this blog, but something that makes me very sad lately is seeing people focusing so much on their fears and using them to justify not recovering. I can’t judge any one, my recovery did take a very long time, but thank God I did it and now I have to live with the consequences of the length of the ED. My hopes always were that somebody could learn on my mistakes, maybe I was naïve.
I would love to shout from the rooftops and tell everyone: "Please do not put your Recovery on the backburner!" Life goes so fast and when we suffer from ED, we are not living.
If your condition tells you – "You have to do this or that and then you will start Recovery…." Do Not Listen to it!
One day I read a quote "Health is not everything, but if you do not have your health, you have nothing" ,so true. ED is not health. When we suffer from ED we have nothing, Recovery is Everything.
Please let go your FEARS of Recovery – focus on the advantages, you deserve better.
Recovery does not mean – stopping life, it means to live FULLY; living fully is living without self-destructive thinking, adding self-loving and self-caring thoughts to all your actions.
Please start today to make your Recovery your number one value in your life, start now, do not wait until this or that happens, now is the time - Recovery is that your physical and mental health will be your number one priority – you will not regret it!
