Values and Recovery

Can you picture what would it be like if nothing matter to you?
What are your values? Where do they come from?

Values are very important. People who have strong sense of what is important to them have real sense of purpose, which moves them forward. Is that what we are missing in Recovery?

Values are our indicators what does and does not matter to us. All the things we want to do and do are actualising of our values. Values are running our life.
Recovery is re-discovering and re-claiming our own values.
Recovery is letting of the self-destructive, condition’s values.
Recovery is making inventory mental and moral ones and weighting our assets and getting clarity of “Who we are, who we want to be...”

The process of re-discovering our values is a process of decision making, questioning, finding out and re-valuing our belief systems. If we know our values our confidence and self esteem will grow when we start to practice them.

Awareness and clarity of our values is important part of Recovery from Eating Distress. Often it is the lack of clarity of our values what is keeping us in our condition.

In Western society constantly are pushed on us marketing values and often we follow them without any questioning. It is time to start to question – who said so?, whose standards am I following here? Is this a condition’s value or my own? Do I own my values?

In life, we need to shed old skin and grow a new one. In Recovery we need to shed old values and make a new one, which will fit to our actions and relish our growth today.

What are your values? Let’s make your Recovery your value
All the best
