Learning to cope

Hello my dear,

Like E, I am also a big fan of Avena Sativa. It definitely gives support through stressful patches, especially when you are having a lot of mad thinking in your head.
Ultimately, with recovery, you learn and realise that you alone have the key to your mind and thinking, and that you actually have the power within yourself to take control over your thoughts and thus can influence your moods all by yourself. You are learning to cope, THAT IS RECOVERY. How exciting is that?!?!

With regards to St. John's Wort, yes, it is prescription, you may speak to your doctor, e.g. Tarek, about it. He knows it and has prescribed it before if he felt it appropriate.

Ultimately no drug will make you change your self-talk or re-wire your mind, that is the conscious work you are doing yourself. And you are already on the way, good on you!
Be good to yourself, look after yourself.

Love,
xxx R. xxx

St John's Wort

Yes, St John's Wort is only available on prescription in Ireland but you can get it over-the-counter in N.I. I took it 4 a while & I found it quite good, particularly in reducing anxiety. As it reacts with some medications, e.g. the contraceptive pill and it should never be taken with SSRI/SNRI or MAOI antidepressants, be sure to talk to your doctor before taking St John's Wort if you're taking any other meds.

St. John's Wort

I tried every sort of supplement years ago including St. John's Wort and don't remember any of them making me feel significantly different. I do like sniffing lavender and some nice essential oils but I for me I find it best to focus on affirmations, living life to the full etc first.

Lots of love,

Carol

As far as I know St. Johns Wort is prescription only in Ireland.

I am a big fan of Avena Sativa myself.
