Dining at Chez O
I was having a friend over for dinner last night, and hadn't really thought about what to cook, and then when checking what I had in the kitchen, the ingredients literally just came to me. I had the chicken and veg, so that was the easiest part. Anyway, there in my cupboard was some wholegrain mustard - ah perfect I thought, will mix that in with the chicken and veg once they're cooked. Then I opened the fridge and my greek yoghurt was sitting there calling me on the shelf, so I added a dallop of that too, then I thought to add in some white wine, and then as I was cooking that, I felt something was missing, and then I thought to myself "ah cheese", so added in some grated cheese. Last night I served it with some creamy garlic potatoes, but would work well with rice too. It turned out to be fun to cook with what was in the cupboards, rather than planning on what to cook. I am glad to say that it turned out well - which was just as well, seeing as my friend ended up being a guinea pig for my spur of the moment recipe, lol.
LnL,
O
