WHAT IS NORMAL EATING? – Balance Eating
What is normal eating?![]()
We live in very nutritionally confused time where more and more it is the marketing companies that are telling us what good for us, not our commons sense or our bodies. We are so overloaded and overwhelmed with too many information – so let’s start to learn to keep it simple.
So, I am going to outline some simple clarifications what is Normal Eating:
Normal eating is eating at regular times, typically three meals and one or two snacks to satisfy hunger and fullfill the body needs.
It is regulated by internal signals of hunger, appetite, satiety —we eat when hungry and stop when satisfied.
It is eating less than you need on some occasions.
It is eating more of the foods that you enjoy the taste of when you choose to, eating less of the foods you like, as you know you can eat them.
It is not seeing food as good and bad....
It is eating in flexible way so it does not interfere with your work, study or social life.
It is eating out socially in a similar manner to the other people in the group.
It is letting go counting calories, weighing food or following diets
It is eating for body needs and not to lose weight or controlling body needs
It is letting go of playing games with yourself and your condition
Start slowly! It will happen and it will worth it.
You can find some suggestions which can help on this link as well http://www.eatingdisorderselfhelp.com/articles/2010/july/06/freedom-food-thinking-suggestions

Awareness.
One of the best ways to learn what your body needs (other than a whole series of nutritional, biological, and physiological profiling) is to become aware of how your body responds to you. From awareness comes curiosity and from curiosity learning and from learning, ultimately, there is understanding. Understanding what your body needs in response to your lifestyle and discovering the foods that optimize your body’s function can literally change your life and support your health and overall well being.
Everything from eradicating tension to smoothing dry skin to easing hay fever to relieving menstrual cramps and menopausal symptoms to improving libido can be affected by the effects of what we eat.
Taking the time and caring enough to fuel the body in a way that supports it is the most important step anyone can take toward feeling well in life.

It’s all about balance
There are 3 basic (macronutrients) foods we need: proteins, essential fatty acids and unrefined, fiber rich, complex carbohydrates. Beyond that, there's a whole host of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements that support our natural biological and hormonal functions. How we get these foods, the vitamins and minerals, into our bodies can determine how our body responds and reacts to our daily lives.

No to food diaries…
Many sufferers are writing food diaries.
I am sorry, but they are not very helpful, they only re-enforce your food thoughts.
But one thing which could be helpful is to make a list of all suggestions and helpful thoughts around food which will help you to achieve freedom in this area. You can as well look the list which describe what is normal eating and write down the area which you need to pay attention.
