The one thing you just can't fight
After the snow and 'cold snap' mini-crisis that brought our little island to a near stand-still, I got to thinking about the power of nature.
We are all part of this wonderful, but uncontrollable force. It is the one thing in life we cannot control, or fight.
For years I have attempted to fight nature by keeping my body the size I thought it should be. I got to a stage about a year ago when I was physically, emotionally and psychologically drained from the endlessly exhausting task of fighting nature. I remember the exact moment when i decided I couldn't do it any more: I was walking to the bus on my way to college and I was exhauted at 9am, from spending an hour on behaviours. And I just thought, 'You know what? I give up. I cannot fight my body any more. I don't have the energy to continue this race that I cannot win.' My body is a force greater than me because it is part of nature. and it will fight to be healthy. If I restrict, it will go into survival mode and store fat. Why am I ruining my life in an effort to achieve something that is unachievable, and at the root of this little project is a nonsensical and shallow ED desire to ruin my life.
I am a woman. I am therefore designed to carry children to continue the human race. That is the fact of life and of nature that no one can deny, whether you have feminist claims or not, that is what the body was designed for. What goes AGAINST nature is the half starved skeletal girls on billboards and in magazines, sprawled across every medium in the western world. THIS IS NOT GIVING ANYHING TO NATURE. THIS IS NOT NATURAL.
Every time you see a model, or actor, or even someone you know who makes an effort to look a certain way to fit into the modern day supposed ideal of what makes a woman beautiful...ask yourself: What is this person adding to the world by looking this way? Would you want to have a coffee with them? would you give them a nobel prize? would you invite them over to share your christmas with you? Are they more worthy than the people you love who are not that size? Are they more worthy than you? The answer you will come to if you are honest with yourself, and with nature is a resounding NO.
Success is NOT your size. it's BULLSH*T that the media pump into your brains so they can make money. THIS IS NOT NATURE. THIS IS NOT LIFE.
life is adding something to the world and embracing nature. which means loving yourself and your femininity and everything that entails. a full life has nothing to do with your size. think of all the women in your life that you love with all your heart. size doesn't come into it.
AND the dirty little secret the media don't want you to know is that guys aren't attracted to girls based on size...it's all about hormones and personality and vitality...NATURE!!! so save yourelf YEARS of pain and suffering and give in to nature. it will be kind to you if you trust it and respect its power.
You were designed to be either a woman or a man. If you are a woman, embrace that gift. I'm only beginning to see how wonderful that gift really is, and I'm starting to love being a woman, I can't even descibe how empowered I feel. NATURE is amazing. you would't question the size of an animal, why question the size of a human being?
