A Great Snack
Hey Guys,
This is the easiest snack in the world to prepare for yourself and it keeps for weeks.
It's basically granola and you can also use it as cereal for breakfast, it has both complex carbohydrate and protein in it.
Ingredients:
1kg bag of oats
1 tub of mixed seeds (Dunnes have a great circular tub with pumpkin, poppy, sunflower and linseeds)
Jar of honey
Dried fruits - cranberries/raisins/apricots etc
Method:
1) Roast the oats on a baking tray, don't pile them up, just one layer deep of oats, you might need two or three trays depending on how much oats you decide to use - bake at 150 degrees for about 30 minutes until they are golden looking and feel dry
2) Mix seeds through the oats and bake at same temperature for another 10-15 minutes.
3) Then pour over about 3 spoons of honey per tray and mix everything together.
4) Return to the oven for another 10 mins at 100 degrees
5) Finally if you wish add some dried fruits and leave to cool.
Store in an air tight container - this keeps for weeks - you can enjoy it as a snack during the day by itself or with some yogurt or as a breakfast cereal with milk.
Enjoy

YUMMY SCRUMMY
Hey Joy!!
I am addicted to the Gordon's crunchy oat cereal....one wee prob is that it's super expensive!! Gonna make my own now...much cheaper and everything tastes so much nicer when u make it urself! Thanks a mill!
Oooh n for a bit of variety I like to add some dried pineapple and mango or some chopped almonds and walnuts...makes it a bit sweeter, adds more protein and tastes super yummy.
