'Definition Of Destiny'

I'm really into music at the moment, in fact my taste has changed a lot in the past couple of years and I think this is perhaps because I'm finally learning to try and find what I like rather than just listening to whatever they stick on the radio. I think I'm using music to help myself feel and discover my emotions. I'm really liking powerful, sometimes angry music at the moment because it is emotional by definition, and I need that right now. I'm a bit of a contradiction actually because on one hand I like girly music: Pink, Avril Lavingne,Katie Perry and on the other hand it's hard rock and metal: BillyTalent, System Of A Down, Muse, Metallica. But I figure, to hell with it. Who says I have to like one or the other? I like it and I don't have to justify it, so there!

Anyway lyrics are usually important to me and I often take pieces out of songs that mean something specific to me but I thought the following song by Canadian punk rock band BillyTalent (my favourite band!) describes where I am right now and the changes I'm making with my life in trying to come to terms with my ED and recovery. Maybe some of you out there can take your own meanings from it?

I'm going to see BillyTalent in the Olympia tomorrow night! YAY!!! I'll probably be the oldest one there but I don't care, I've been looking forward to it all year!

I recently heard a saint defined as someone who makes us feel better about ourselves each time we meet or talk to them.It is important that we all try and have at least one saint in our lives to
keep us feeling positive - negativity feeds the condition and stalls recovery.

That's cool to know that someone else doesn't fit into a box about music tastes... I like all kinds of music too from rocker to girly stuff.. what ever that makes me happy and reminds me of good memories.
