The last day of a Good Year
‘Life consists not in holding good cards, but in playing well those you do hold.’
( Josh Billings )
Good Year
What type of year did you have?
Every year is a good one as long as you survive it.
Today is the last day of this year and it is a good time to look back over the past 12 months.
Isn’t it a measure of your success that you got to this far? I hope you have learned a very valuable lesson – that recovery is possible and that you can do it, too.
You know the saying ‘When it ends good, it was good.’’
Make sure today is a great day.
What could help you is to dedicate an hour to your recovery, at least you will feel you are doing something about it and you might even enjoy it. It would be better if your recovery hour was in the morning, it could set you up with a positive start for the rest of ‘this year’.
Write down all the good things that you have learned and realised this year. Start with January, February and take it month by month. Than read back over it several times and you will find yourself coming up with more and more positive things.
Before you are finished you will see that it was a great year!
What did happened on this day:
1869 – Henri Matisse the French painter was born
1923 – In London the chimes of Big Ben were first broadcast on the BBC
1937 – Anthony Hopkins Welsh actor was born
1943 – Ben Kingsley British actor was born
1948 – Donna Summer American singer was born
1960 – The farthing coin, which had been in use in Great Britain since the 13th century, ceased to be legal tender
Enjoy finding out more - about the world we live in and about you....
I would like to wish to everybody - really fascinating, interesting, full of fun and excitement and Freedom new year 2010
All the best
